Challenge Test
Challenge Test (Preservative efficacy test)
EU Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009 establishes that cosmetic and personal hygiene products must demonstrate their conservation effectiveness, as cosmetic preservation systems must guarantee product robustness and consumer safety throughout its life cycle. The Preservative Efficacy Test (PET), also known as Challenge Test, is the appropriate tool to prove the effectiveness of antimicrobial preservation against microbial contamination. At Pharmilab, we apply several challenge assay protocols.
The methodology of this test can follow the European pharmacopoeia or ISO ISO 11930, a methodology for which Pharmilab is accredited by ISO 17025.
Pharmilab is accredited as a Testing Laboratory according to the NP EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 standard.
